About us
We are a family with two kids. Since 3 years we are living with our female Portuguese Water Dog named Lina. We fell in love with this breed because of its unique character defined by kindness, fidelity and fondness for children. We are located in Lovran, small town on the Croatian coast on the Adriatic Sea, what is perfect for a dog like Lina, as she loves to swim, dive and accompany us on boat-trips. Originally the breed of Portuguese Water Dogs was a dog breed that fishermen used in order to support their fishing activities. That is why the dog breed is extremely indulgent and helpful and acts friendly with everyone. As we want to give other families the opportunity to experience the same joy we have with Lina, we decided that Lina should drop little puppies. We follow all rules of cynology and veterinary.
We possess all required certificates and permissions for dog breeding. This implies all professional findings and opinions regarding our dog, f.ex. genetic tests (PRA-PRCD), (Improper coat), (GM1), (JDCM) etc.

Lina
Lina is our Portuguese Water Dog, that’s all about! She is smart, kind and obedient. As we came across this dog breed we were looking for a medium sized family dog without a specific smell but long fur. The Portuguese Water Dog fits all our wishes, so we decided to go with it and soon found our new family member - Lina.
DOG BREEDING
After we found and Lina she soon became a loved family member as her joyful and loyal character enriched our everyday life. Lina is a very bright and caring dog that brings laughter and happiness to our home. Therefore we decided that other families should also be able to share our lovely experiences and enrich their family life with a four-legged companion like our Lina.
We had the first puppies in the summer of 2017.
Cão de Água - THE PORTUGUESE WATER DOG
The Portuguese Water Dog is an ancient dog breed that is known as a four-legged companion of fishermen helping them doing their job. Therefore the dog breed is well-known for its unique love to go for a swim and dive into into the sea. It is reported that the dogs have been used to deliver messages from boat to boat or between distant housings along the seashore. Nowadays the dogs are usually known as family dogs, with a kind and gentle temper.
FUR
The body of the Portuguese Water Dog is covered with a lot of long fur missing an underfur. There are two kinds of fur: long wavy and short curly hair are common, while the color varies from black, brown, white and a combination of black and white or brown and white.
GROOMING
Taking care of Portuguese Water Dogs is very simple. Of course there is a need to invest some time in grooming in order to get a nice, soft and shiny fur. Good nutrition, enough actions as going for a walk or swimming during hot summer days is crucial for the dogs health. Long and hot summers are usually very exhausting for Portuguese Water Dogs, so they love to cool off by taking a swim in the sea. Concerning the grooming we suggest to visit a dog groomer each and every while but at least every two months for a proper treatment of the dog. The Portuguese needs a good grooming at least once a day in order to get that special and graceful look for which they are famous.

Temper
Portuguese Water Dogs have a great characters and a very good temper: They are calm, brave, intelligent, extremely joyful and easy to raise and handle. They respect the owner's authority and are very obedient to other family members. They are very loyal and fidel and have a lot of patience with everybody. Portuguese Water Dogs act friendly and are an amicable breed that harmonizes well with other animals. They are known to be very playful but though very calm dogs that are seldom barking. Thea are not suitable for purposes of self defense for their lack of aggressiveness.
KIDS
Portuguese Water Dogs are kid loving creatures. They loves to romp around and play with children . With younger children they are always caring and gentle. Portuguese are very well aware of when they „cross the line“ what is an evident mark of their intelligence and awareness of reality. They love it to cuddle and are great and loyal companions with gorgeous eyes that can conquer hearts within a second.
FCI- Clasification
Portuguese Water Dogs belong to the breed group VII, like the American Cocker Spaniel, Barbet, Longhair Retriever, Irish Water Spaniel, Clumber Spaniel, Curly-coated Retriever, Labrador Retriever or Golden Retriever, etc.

BEHAVIOR WITH OTHER ANIMALS
Portuguese Water Dogs are good friends and companions of humans and animals. Concerning other dog breeds they are get along very well with all kinds of other breeds no matter if they are bigger or smaller than themselves. In crucial situations they even show protecting behavior and can be very brave.

PUPPIES
We had the first puppies in August 2017. with all valid HKS documents, passport and health booklet. Puppies are vaccinated and cleansed from parasites.
We would like to meet the future owners to know that puppies go to good hands. Likewise, we would like to advise future owners when choosing a puppy because we already know what is suitable for agility, pet, therapeutic dog or dog show.
